Project Installation Technician

Summary of Position

We are a rapidly growing national security and surveillance provider looking to hire a highly motivated individual to fill an immediate opening in our Project Installation Department. Our ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced environment; works well with others, can work well without supervision, possesses a strong knowledge of project installation processes and technical service skills, has experience with low voltage cabling, possesses basic networking skills, and has a strong understanding of computers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Project Responsibilities

  • Assist in technical walkthroughs and assessments prior to installation.
  • Work will involve driving a company vehicle, using hand tools, and climbing ladders.
  • Running and pulling cables while adhering to local codes, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Verify system functionality by testing equipment, connections, and signals.
  • Install cameras, computers, wiring, and other equipment required for project completion.
  • Maintain records by documenting work completed
  • Coordination required with sub-contractors and project manager.
  • Coordination required with backend personnel to assure procurement accuracy, verify network design, and equipment configurations.
  • Can adhere to strict scheduling, work from preplanning designs and proficiently execute them.
  • The ability to convey your vision and standards to the personnel that will follow the installation. 
  • Coordinate and advise sales staff on project walkthroughs, drawings, and maps.

Service Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot client sites pertaining to network connectivity issues, malfunctioning equipment, or physical equipment damage.
  • Coordinate with in-house service teams to assist in site repair, cleaning, and equipment replacement.
  • Comfortable multitasking on a ladder during site evaluation and repair.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.

Execution

  • Daily/weekly/monthly project status reports.
  • High volume communication with project manager during the install process.
  • Coordinating with remote staff to verify installation matches design.
  • Understand camera installation shot/target intention and assist with pointing and focusing final camera location.

Job Skills and Requirements

  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must have basic networking knowledge.
  • Self-motivated with a professional attitude and ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, follow directions, and meet deadlines.
  • Enjoys hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to take direction without misunderstanding work plan.
  • Strong skills in teambuilding, customer service, and interpersonal communication.
  • Working during inclement weather could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust depending upon project site.
  • Able to perform work on uneven surfaces; frequently climb ladders, on/off equipment and work from various heights.
  • Able and willing to walk, stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to use your hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling.
  • Must be willing to travel for 5 -10day periods, 2-3 times a month.
  • Able hold or can obtain a Private Security Registration.

 

Electrician Apprentice/Journeyman (18- 28 Per Hour)

  • Electricians must have at least 3 years of experience.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or wiring, equipment using hand tools and power tools.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, worksite directs, and written instructions.
  • Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

 

Project Installation Technician/Apprentices (Pay 18-22 Per Hour)

  • Must possess 2 years of experience in low voltage wiring and structured cabling installation.
  • Assists in installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment.
  • Helps Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or wiring, and equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Feed to, pull into, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc. and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
  • Splice and terminate wires at junction points.
