Help Desk/Support Technician

Summary of Position

We are a rapidly growing national provider of video surveillance to the multifamily housing industry looking to fill an immediate opening in our Service Department. Our ideal candidate will perform a key role in maintaining constant operation of our network video systems nationwide through remote troubleshooting and provision of technical support to our in-house field technicians and subcontractors.

Service Support Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, troubleshoot, and diagnose a variety of server environments and network infrastructures.
  • Schedule service calls with field technicians and subcontractors.
  • Provide technical support to field technicians, clients, and other departments.
  • Use ticketing system to record a detailed log of the troubleshooting process, including all successful and unsuccessful actions taken, through to final resolution.
  • Escalate problems to the higher-level tier groups.
  • Alert management of emerging trends in incidents.
  • Assist in the maintenance of site documentation; network maps, contact lists, detailed site maps and information, etc.
  • Assist in the maintenance of rapport and accountability with subcontractors.
  • Assist in the development of help sheets and FAQs.

  • Subcontractors and in-house technicians.
  • Inventory/Logistics.
  • Project Managers.
  • Sales team.
  • Internet Service Providers.

 

Job Skills and Requirements

  • Knowledge of advanced computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, networking equipment, and analog/IP surveillance cameras.
  • Knowledge of network fundamentals, networking standards, tools, and utilities.
  • Experience with Linux and command line interface.
  • Experience with Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and managing network equipment (routers, switches, radios, cameras, etc).
  • Ability to handle multiple competing projects and assignments.
  • Must have basic networking knowledge.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; follow directions and meet deadlines.
  • Enjoys hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and forward-thinking skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
